I began my training with Leicester University studying for 4 years in Contemporary Psychodynamic Counselling. I completed a final year in Nottingham and qualified as an Integrative Psychotherapist.
I am experienced and compassionate and have been working as a therapist for over 12 years. I work to a high standard of professional ethics and I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I practice according to their code of professional ethics and practice.
How I Work
I practice an Integrative approach to psychotherapy, which draws on different theoretical techniques; such has humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy. People think, feel and react in different ways. By integrating different ways of thinking, people can bring about changes in their lives. I can work with you to produce a unique therapy adapted to suit your needs. The exact nature of the work will depend on what suits you best.
I have practised in the public and voluntary sector in Leicester for the past 12 years. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds with many different problems and requirements. I currently work with students in a higher education setting.
I work with people who present with a wide variety of issues, working both long and short term. The areas I specialise in are: ·
- People who suffer from depression, anxiety and stress
- Childhood sexual abuse
- Rape and sexual assault
- Victims of domestic abuse
- Those experiencing life crisis
- Work related stress
- Relationship difficulties
- Eating Disorders
- Sexual identity
or you may wish to seek counselling/therapy as part of your own self-development.
